Mullet Run Charters

Where the run fishes best, region by region — and the captains who fish it.

We’re verifying the first captains for this season. Listings appear here once a USCG license is confirmed; until then, use the region notes below to plan your own trip.

Atlantic Coast

The classic fall run: bait pours south along the beach from Jacksonville to Miami.

Northeast Florida (Mickler's, Jax, St. Augustine)

The run loads up early here. Long clean surf and the St. Johns jetties put clients on bait before the rest of the coast lights up.

Ponce Inlet & the Space Coast

Ponce is a legendary funnel and Cocoa's surf runs for miles. Peak-season blitzes with predators pinning bait against the beach.

SnookTarponRedfishSharks

Sebastian & the Treasure Coast

Sebastian and Fort Pierce inlets are among the state's best snook and tarpon corridors when the mullet push through.

SnookTarponSpanish mackerel

Jupiter to South Florida

Clear water and a deep tarpon corridor at Jupiter, with the run pushing into Fort Lauderdale and Miami later in fall.

Gulf Coast

Big roe mullet stage in the bays and bayous, then pour out the passes to spawn offshore as fronts cool the water.

Panhandle (Pensacola, Destin, Panama City)

Roe mullet funnel out Pensacola Pass, East Pass and St. Andrews Pass in late fall, and bull reds stack up at the jetties to meet them.

Big Bend & Nature Coast (Apalachicola, Cedar Key, Crystal River)

Shallow grass flats and oyster bars hold huge schools of mullet, with redfish and trout tailing right alongside them on the fall tides.

Tampa Bay & Sarasota

Mullet schools work the bay mouth and beaches from Clearwater to Sarasota, drawing snook to the passes and kingfish onto the nearshore reefs.

Boca Grande, Fort Myers & Naples

Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande Pass and the Ten Thousand Islands see mullet spill out every pass, with snook and tarpon waiting at the mouths.
