About Anna Maria Island
Passage Key Inlet is the southern exit from lower Tampa Bay. Mullet leaving the bay and those hugging the barrier islands southbound both pass the north end of the island.
Bean Point and the island's piers give shore anglers several ways to watch the inlet.
Why fish here during the run
- Two traffic lanes meet here: bay exits and island-hugging schools.
- Clear beach water makes schools easy to see from shore.
- Snook and redfish work the inlet edges in the fall.
