About Mayport
Mayport marks the St. Johns River entrance north of Jacksonville Beach. Moving water through the jetties creates a classic inlet choke point — bait stacks, and tarpon, snook (in season), jacks, and sharks wait on the edges.
Nearby Hanna Park beaches also see schools push along the open coast when wind pins bait against the sand.
